When can I request an appointment for Cooling Assistance?
Seniors (all adults in the household must be 65+) and medically home bound households: Starting April 1, 2025, at 8:30 AM.
Medically home bound households: Please do not book online, please call 770-773-7730, and select option 8.
All others (general public): Starting May 1, 2025, at 8:30 AM. The general public (all households age 64 and under) MUST wait until May 1st to begin requesting their appointments. Those that request or schedule prior to May 1st, no matter the appointment date, will be canceled.
Households that book an appointment outside of their county of residence will not be seen in the offices and their appointment will be canceled.
ALL APPOINTMENTS ARE IN-PERSON.

What do I bring to my appointment?
Failure to provide all required documentation will result in delay or denial of your assistance. We require all of the following documents:
- Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, permanent resident card, passport, etc.) for the applicant and authorized representative (if applicable)
- Social Security cards for ALL household members
- Proof of income for the 30-days prior to the appointment date for all household members. Adults not working or receiving income MUST be present at the time of the appointment, including students
- Current Electric bill (dated 30 days from your appointment date showing the full name, full address, account number, and amount due)
- Current heating bill (dated 30 days from your appointment date showing the full name, full address, account number, and amount due), if you do not heat your home with electricity
You must have all documents printed and available upon arrival at your appointment. Failure to have documents at your appointment may result in your appointment not being completed and your application for assistance being denied.

Appointments can be changed or canceled at any time on this website. Please note, if you cancel your appointment there may not be another available appointment. You can also make or cancel an appointment at any time (24/7) using our automated phone system by dialing 770-817-4666 and following the instructions.
